A little work in progress for the day!

This reference photo is stunning and I want to try and do it justice. I always get nervous going dark on the page with black dogs and regret it as I get towards the end and realise it’s so much lighter than it should be. I can see myself doing this already, so keep going back over adding more, bit by bit.

Hopefully this means I will get a better depth and balance, but it also taking quiiiite a bit of time!

Story time!

Boda is a rescue cat and has been living with my Mum and Dad for about a year and a half.

The vets that were temporarily holding him struggled to find a new family for him. With local catteries full to the brim, his future looked uncertain. 😞

He was microchipped but previous owners were sadly not in a position to take him back….he had been roaming for 8 years!! (This is also how we knew his name….apparently named after Star Wars ‘Boba Fett’…shortened to Boba….and then misheard…so….Boda! 😂

My parents lost our 3 family cats a very long time ago and despite scrolling rescue sites regularly, they had yet to make the jump to adopt. Despite my regular nagging to get a cat, the time hadn’t been right. I sent a little video of Boda to them that had been shared amongst veterinary surgeries.

You might be thinking “wow, he looks like a grump”… well….you couldn’t be more wrong! He’s a sweetheart.

1, 2 skip a few, and he’s now got a lovely new life!!After spending the first week hiding behind our couches, it didn’t take long before he was following my parents around (more like a dog actually!)

He is now doted on more than anything and has a million toys that, naturally being a cat, he totally ignores.

He is super friendly, if not a tiny bit jumpy at sudden movements and noises! He enjoys sleeping, ignoring toys, strokes, turning his nose up at posh food, looking grumpy and sleeping.

Enjoyed this one, even if he looked totally un-fussed seeing his portrait!
